Over the past ten years she has helped the practice grow, expanding services to treat diseases of the skin as well as offering state of the art cosmetic services. Dr. Coker treats patients of all ages with various skin disorders. She also offers several cosmetic procedures including Botox injections, sclerotherapy, and laser removal of tattoos and blood vessels.
When asked about her experience as a dermatologist, Dr. Leslie Coker replied:
"I am frequently asked if I always knew I wanted to be a dermatologist. The answer is that it was only midway through medical school, after experiencing all other fields of medicine, that my choice was clear. Dermatology requires one to be visually perceptive and a good listener who is able to gather information through effective communication: Your eyes, then your ears, then the medical detective work.
Surgical and cosmetic procedures make dermatology a challenging art form that I thoroughly enjoy. My mother is an accomplished artist who encouraged my brother and I to be creative. Through my father, I had ample exposure to dermatology: working in his office, after hour calls, not to mention the medical journals that came to the house! I can credit these two influences, my mom and dad, for my success!
When I see a patient, I am sincerely honored that they have entrusted me with their care. Associates in Dermatology is more a family than a business and we want the patients to feel that they are an extension of this family."
"Perform monthly skin checks as you would check for ticks.
Skin cancers can be found where the sun doesn't shine!
Where ever a tick can go, a melanoma can grow."
